12.30.2011 // Yokohama Wins 2011 Drum Corps Japan

The 19th All Japan Drum Corps Japan (DCJ) Championships were held on November 27, 2011 at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, Japan. The Yokohama Scouts were awarded 1st place in the competition for the second year in a row! This makes them a six-time champion of Division I in DCJ.


12.30.2011 // Dynasty Percussion at All Japan Marching Band Finals

The All Japan Marching Band Contest Finals competition took place December 17-18, 2011 in Japan. More than twenty Dynasty percussion groups made it to the prestigious finals line-up, which was determined by performances throughout the season. Dynasty is very proud of the following ensembles for  their achievement this year!

This October, Dynasty artist Paul Rennick visited Okayama, Japan to see the International Pacific University (IPU) marching band.

This Octobor, Okayama, Japan hosted the 23rd “Marching in Okayama” festival and drum corps championship. Dynasty was a leading sponsor of the event, and is proud to announce that Dynasty ensemble, The Yokohama Scouts, won top honors once again!


10.13.2011 // Matrix Heads to Europe in 2012

Dynasty percussion is pleased to announce that the Matrix Indoor percussion Ensemble will be traveling to Europe in 2012.  The Matrix ensemble, under the direction of Rob Ferguson, has been in existence for 12 years and continues to be a highly competitive group in the WGI circuit. “Rob Ferguson and Matrix have been an amazing supporter of Dynasty and we are thrilled to give the members and staff this opportunity to travel abroad for the second time “ said  Mark Reynolds , VP of Sales and Marketing for Dynasty. Rob Ferguson stated , “We are unbelievably honored to have the opportunity to travel to Europe for a second time in 2012.  The experience we had in 2008 was truly amazing and we are looking forward to returning again in 2012.  We are excited to be able to perform once again at the IPE Championships as well as to provide this ensemble with a once in a lifetime experience.  Thanks so much to Dynasty and Muremo for making this trip possible."

 

Matrix will travel to Europe to present a clinic and an exhibition performance on April 8th , 2012 at the Indoor Percussion European Championships. Dynasty would like to thank Jean Paul Ratajczak of Muremo music for helping make this trip a reality.

07.21.2011 // Batteryheadz Win top spot in Hong Kong

Last week the Hong Kong International Marching Band competition took place and Dynasty group , Batteryheadz took the top prize. " This group continues to improve and excel as an international competitor. We are happy the Batteryheadz continue to chose Dynasty." said Mark Reynolds, VP of Sales and Marketing at Dynasty. The group was named Grand Champion and also took home the award for Best Music , Best Percussion , and the Drum Battle Champion. Congratulations and thank you for choosing Dynasty Percussion.

06.29.2011 // UNT presents amazing drum camp

Paul Rennick and Tim Jackson were guest artists for the 17th Annual 2011 University of North Texas Marching Percussion Camp. Over 175 high school students attended this four-day camp held on the UNT campus in Denton, Texas. Both Rennick and Jackson presented outstanding clinics and also coached each of the camp drum line ensembles. UNT Percussion Coordinator Mark Ford hosted the annual camp with over 35 instructors who are primarily alumni from the award winning UNT Drum Line. These instructors included Michael Hernandez, David Suarez, Andrew Hoskins, Bob Brannock, Bob Romano, Michael Lemish, Brady Spitz, Frankie Burke, Robert Houpe, Ben Moore, Eric Petrinowitsch, Craig Sheffield, Kory Bosley, Bobby Mowles, Clay McNeill, Raj Hensley, Charles Gardner, Jason Gonzalez, Chris Sawyer, Keven Braswell, Jonathan Anderson, Ben Christensen, Marqus Burleson, Frank Nedley, Kate Vorel, Blaise Roberts, Kevin Ford ,Jack Pronske, Josh Boychuk, John Rusch and Chris Billings. Sponsors for the camp were the UNT College of Music, Dynasty, Innovative Percussion, Zildjian, Remo, Evans and Lone Star Percussion.

06.15.2011 // batteryheadz on TV in Malaysia

Great Dynasty supporters " Batteryheadz " appeared on a live TV show in malaysia called Mentor 5. Batteryheadz appeared on the very popular singing competition show in Malaysia, similar to "American Idol" on May 22nd. The group was backing up a contestant and supplied the groove by playing Dynasty marching drums. Congrats and thanks for playing Dynasty Percussion.

03.11.2011 // UNT Heads to Europe

University of North Texas (USA) will perform at IPE European Championships The University of North Texas (UNT) Indoor Drum Line from Denton, Texas (USA) is proud to announce that they will be travelling to Europe in March of 2011 to represent the U.S. indoor percussion community in both clinics and performances. This incredible opportunity would not be possible without the support of Dynasty USA, Innovative Percussion, Zildjian, Remo and Muremo Music in Europe. On the European continent Mr. Jean Paul Ratajczek from Muremo Music will function as the liaison for their stay and performances in the indoor circuit. UNT will be performing their 2011 production, "Metamorphisis” featuring music based on compositions by Ginastera, Bartok and Debussy.

03.02.2011 // University of Central Arkansas Percussion Festival

The University of Central Arkansas Percussion Studio will host the UCA Percussion festival March 5 at the Snow Fine Arts Recital Hall. Events ranging from clinics to distinguished performances will be held all day. Events are free and open to the public. The festival will feature guest artist and virtuoso percussionist Payton MacDonald, as well as a lineup of UCA percussion alumni. “This will be a very special festival because the guest artists will be made up almost entirely of graduates of the UCA Percussion Studio,” said Blake Tyson, assistant professor of music and the studio’s director. “They will be returning to present clinics and performances and to conduct their own percussion ensembles.” The alumni who will be returning are currently respected band directors, university professors, soloists, composers, orchestral musicians and recording artists. “UCA’s percussion graduates are doing amazing things as educators and performers,” Tyson said. “I wanted to give them a chance to come back home and share their talents with my current students and with younger students from around the state.” The festival will feature alumni Justin Alexander, Jason Edwards, Ben Finley, Josh Knight, Benjamin Martin, Neal Moss, Ricky Morrow, Kevin Pierce, and Erick Saoud. It will also include performances by several high school percussion bands across the state. “Everyone is welcome,” Tyson said. “Whether you’re a band director or a student in high school, college or elementary school, you’ll have a great time learning about what the world of percussion has to offer.” Tyson started the UCA Percussion Festival in 2002, and interest in it has continued to grow. “The first year of the festival, we only had about 25 people attend,” he said. “But it has grown and we’ve had well over 100 attendees at the past couple of festivals. On April 18, Sunday the City of Beijing and CASBE held the 13th marching band festival to decide the groups of excellence for the entry of the Shanghai World Expo and CASBE Music Festival “Spring of Shanghai”. 61 primary school and high school marching bands competed. The biggest number of bands and audience gathered for this exciting competition to go to the Shanghai World Expo and CASBE. The very first member of Dynasty Family in China, CAAS primary school has been chosen as gold medalist among many competitive groups and invited to the music festival by the City of Shanghai and the World Expo.

02.24.2011 // Minnesota Brass Wins Indy Regional

MN Brass Indoor ( PIO class) (1st- 84.95) came the farthest distance of any competitor, and went home happy after moving up a place from prelims. “Persian” was set on an elaborate floor resembling an exquisite oriental rug in a rich mosaic pattern. During one memorable sequence, the ladies of the cymbal line lounged like princesses on top of the battery members, who teamed up with poses reminiscent of the expensive furniture in a sultan’s opulent palace. Citrus Family Drumline under the direction of Junt Minalai competed in the Royal King Cup Championship. Over 50 drumlines competed in this years contest. 01.20.2011 // Dynasty in the recording studio

Dynasty was recently in the recording studio with the talented folks at Eight Bit Studios . These guys have created the already popular Drumline app for the iphone and ipod touch. John Ostler spent the weekend recording the Dynasty marching bass drums to add an update to the app. The Drumline app already has some amazing features using the Dynasty marching tenors and the Dynasty marching DFX14 snare drum. 01.19.2011 // NAMM 2011

Dynasty Concert Percussion turned some heads with the showing of our prototype Signature Concert Snare Drum. The concert snare drum features a 10 ply American maple shell in combination with a fully machined throw-off and easy adjustment to get the sound you want from the unique snare system. The Signature snare drum also boasts craftsmanship with our tube lug design casings and beautifully hand stained shell . Dynasty marching percussion has also introduced some brand new finishes for 2011. We have added sparkle fade finishes to our already extensive line of customized options for marching drums. Dynasty has also been noticed at NAMM 2011 for the development of the P10-DOP30 pedal glock. This instrument features a 3.0 octave set of steel bar bells that includes a damper bar to give the player the control they need for any musical situation. The glock can also be ordered on a Dynasty " Grid Iron " field cart. The P10-DOP30 has been heard by ensembles such as Phantom Regiment (the DCI High Percussion award in 2008 and 2010) and the 2008 & 2009 WGI World Champions, RhythmX from Columbus, Ohio.

PASIC 2010 was a huge success for Dynasty. The convention was held in Indianapolis this year and marked some great things for Dynasty. We revealed our new Dynasty Signature concert snare drum. We had three of these drums in the booth and the drum was greeted with an amazing response. 10 Ply maple shell with tube lug design casings and a throw off that is second to none. Look for the snare drum to hit the market in 2011. We also showed off some awesome new marching drum finishes that people went crazy for. " We have never been able to put finishes this beautiful on marching drums before. The possibilities are endless with us doing everything in our factory here in the USA." said Mark Reynolds ,VP of Sales and Marketing. We had some amazing clinics and concerts featuring Dynasty artists Janis Potter , Brian Zator and the Texas A&M Commerce Percussion Ensemble , Mark Ford ,Eric Willie , She-e Wu and an amazing vibe solo by Blake Tyson to finish the weekend. Congrats to the PARIS HS and director Shawn Wellman for winning the HS drumline contest and also to the HS snare drum individual winner and the College keyboard solo winner for playing Dynasty and making us sound so good.
