Dynasty USA is proud to announce new artist Blake Tyson.

Blake Tyson has multi-faceted career and is known as a performer, teacher and composer. His international performances include cities like Beijing, Johannesburg, Quito and Cairo. He has also performed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, the Northwest Percussion Festival, the Leigh Howard Stevens Summer Marimba Seminar, and at numerous Days of Percussion throughout the United States. He is a member of the faculty of the University of Central Arkansas where he coordinates all aspects of the percussion program. He has composed many works for percussion, including Vertical River, Anubis, A cricket sang and set the sun, and Cloud Forest. Blake is also a clinician and concert artist for the Zildjian Company and Pro-Mark, where he has his own Autograph Series of marimba mallets.

Blake received the DMA degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he was also awarded the prestigious Performer's Certificate. He received the Master of Music degree from Kent State University, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Alabama. His teachers include John Beck, Michael Burritt, Larry Mathis, and Peggy Benkeser. He has also studied derabucca with Halim El-Dabh and has devoted intensive study to El-Dabh's unique notational system for the instrument.
