Discover Robert Brannock



Robert Brannock serves as Director of Percussion Studies for the Denton High School cluster in Denton, TX, as well as an Adjunct Faculty member at Texas Woman's University. Mr. Brannock holds a Masters degree in Percussion Performance and Conducting from the University of North Texas and a Bachelors degree in Music Education from Ball State University. While at UNT, he served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the percussion department, teaching undergraduate percussion studies. His performance and teaching experiences range from marching band and drum corps to concert and world percussion. He has appeared as a guest artist, clinician, and conductor in Japan, Canada, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Florida, and Texas.

An active educator, Mr. Brannock has held the position of Assistant Director and Director of Bands at high schools in Indiana and Texas. Under his direction, his ensembles have had the honor of performing with such artists as Ney Rosauro, Steve Houghton, Michael Burritt, Gregg Bissonette, Paul Wertico, Robert Chappell, Lalo Davilla, Jeff Prosperie, Liam Teague and Arthur Lipner, among others. His ensembles have seen success in both marching and concert percussion, including the Indiana Percussion Association State Champion Lake Central Drumline and IPA State runner-up Lake Effect concert percussion ensemble. His ensembles have also earned WGI Regional Championship titles and numerous Outstanding Percussion awards. Concert and marching bands under his direction have consistent Superior ratings and Awards of Distinction to their credit in Texas and Indiana, including appearances at the Indiana State Marching Band Finals, Bands of America Regionals and Grand Nationals, and top honors and Best in Class awards at various national music festivals. His percussion students have gone on to win auditions with regional orchestras, Texas and Indiana All-Region and All-State Bands, several Top 12 drum & bugle corps and various WGI Independent groups, as well as being accepted on scholarship to university undergraduate and graduate music programs throughout the country. Several students also have active professional careers in the music industry, including studio and touring work in the USA and Europe.

Mr. Brannock has been an active wind and percussion adjudicator, composer and arranger, member of the Board of Directors for the Indiana Percussion Association and a design consultant for the Zildjian company. He is published with Row-Loff Productions and is an endorser/artist for Innovative Percussion, Evans and Dynasty USA. He holds professional memberships in the Percussive Arts Society, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, College Music Society, Pi Kappa Lambda, Golden Key and Kappa Delta Pi.
