Marching Percussion, educator in the UK. Ian studied percussion with The Tameside Orchestras, taking on all aspects of percussion and has played in many of the UKs top drum & bugle corps. Ian has written for many drum corps in the UK and now writes and teaches the Poynton Commodores and served as their Corps Coordinator and Caption Head of Percussion from 1992 to 2001. 2002 saw Poynton Commodores join the Dynasty family. Ian also served as caption head of percussion for 5 years for the British Youth Bands Associations Festival of Music, an annual weeklong event overseeing 20 percussion staff and over 200 students. Ian now plays with an 18 piece big band called High Brass made up of members with a drum corps background. Formed in 2000, High Brass are currently enjoying breaking into the mainstream jazz audience.
