Discover Masahito Kuroda
Masahito Kuroda has been a faculty member at Northwestern State University of Louisiana since 2001, teaching Euphonium, Tuba, Trombone, Sound Recording, and Music Technology. Originally from Japan, he holds Bachelor of Music Education from Tokyo Gakugei University, Master of Music from Morehead State University, and the post graduate study at Louisiana State University. Receiving full scholarship from Japanese Ministry of Education, he studied in the U.S with Dr. Earle Louder, and took lessons from many renowned low brass performers and teachers in the US, Germany, Netherlands, and England. He has performed with Baton Rouge Symphony, Rapides Symphony, and Shreveport Symphony as a tenor tuba player. He has appeared as a guest euphonium soloist in several university bands in the U.S., and most recently, he held the first Euphonium recital/masterclass in Slovak Republic at Bratislava Conservatory. As a chamber artist, his Euphonium-Tuba Quartet won the third prize in the first international Colonial Euphonium Tuba Quartet Competition, and performed as a finalist in the ITEC2001 at Lahti, Finland.
