Discover Eric Sbar
For more than ten years now, Eric Sbar has been actively performing and composing music that draws upon almost any musical influence he can get his hands on. Eric has worked to incorporate his diverse musical influences with a strong background in jazz, free improvisation, and classical chamber music to create his own unique musical perspective.
Eric performs most often with his jazz duo with guitarist Scott Farr and the creative jazz quartet Aleatoric Squash which he co-leads with bassist Dave Culwell.
Eric's CD entitled Cactus containing original music recorded by his group NiceJaquet will be released on PfMentum Records in May of 2003.
Eric holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Jazz and African American Music from the California Institute of the Arts and a Bachelor of Musical Arts in Jazz Studies from the University of Michigan. He currently lives in Los Angeles where he continues his work as a composer and performer of creative music. Eric also has a passion for teaching and is active as a coach and private instructor at several of the schools in his area.
