Featured Artist: Chad Heiny



Chad Heiny is the Percussion Specialist and Assistant Director of Bands at Kiski Area High School in Vandergrift, PA. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in both Music Education and Music Performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from Louisiana State University. He has studied percussion with Dr. Brett Deitz, Dr. Gary Olmstead, and Dr. Jack Stamp.
In addition to his duties at Kiski, Chad is an adjudicator for both the Mid-east Performance Association of Dayton, OH and the Pennsylvania Federation of Contest Judges. He is also the Front Ensemble Arranger and Coordinator for the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps. Prior to his involvement with Spirit of Atlanta, Chad was the Front Ensemble Arranger for the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps (2003-2007) and a Front Ensemble technician for the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps (2009-10). Chad is a proud endorser of Dynasty Percussion Instruments, Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets and Remo drumheads. He resides in Leechburg, PA with his wife Nichole and their dog Cailey.
